2014 The Gathering Schedule (Culture Days)

All activities will be held at the Bearskin Fitness Center gymnasium, unless indicated at the Title VI (Artie Nesvold) building.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11

9:00 to 9:15 – Welcome and introductions (facilitated by the Wyandotte Nation Culture Committee).
9:15 to 9:45 – History of Pow Wow (facilitated by Lloyd Divine).
9:45 to 10:15 – Introduction to the Dances of the Pow Wow (facilitated by David Culver)
10:15 to 10:30 – Break
10:30 to 12:00 – Learn the Social Dances of the Pow Wow (facilitated by TBD).

Noon to 1:00 – Lunch At Title VI.

1:00 pm to 2:00 – Know Your Nation (facilitated by Chief Billy Friend and Second Chief Norman Hildebrand).
2:00 to 5:00 – Special Interests. Men will be making a bandolier. Women will be making a shawl. (Age appropriate crafts for the children).
5:00 to 5:15 – Break.
5:15 to 6:00 – Questions and Answers. (facilitated by the Wyandotte Nation Culture Committee)
6:00 to 8:00 – BBQ, Smoked, and Grilled Pork. Feast and Social Time with Family and Friends. (prepared by Robert Franklin)
8:00 to ? – Stomp Dance (coordinated by TBD)

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12

9:00 to 9:15 – Welcome and introductions (facilitated by the Wyandotte Nation Culture Committee).
9:15 to 9:45 – History of the Wyandotte Nation Pow Wow (facilitated by Barbara Collier).
9:45 to 10:15 – Language (facilitated by Christina Boeke).
10:15 to 10:30 – Break
10:30 to 12:00 – Learn the Social Dances of the Pow Wow (facilitated by TBD).

Noon to 1:00 – Lunch at Title VI.

1:00 pm to 3:00 – Special Interests. Men will be making a bandolier. Women will be making a shawl. (Age appropriate crafts for the children).
3:00 to 3:15 – Break
3:15 to 4:00 – Language (facilitated by Christina Boeke).
4:00 to 4:30 – Pow Wow Etiquette (facilitated by Deryl Wright)
4:30 to 5:00 – Pow Wow and Wyandotte Tradition – Final Q&A (facilitated by Lloyd Divine)
5:00 – 6:30 – Traditional Dinner and Social Time at Title VI building.
6:30 pm – ? – 25th Annual Wyandotte Nation Pow Wow.

NOTES:
1. ALL sessions will be held in the Bearskin Wellness Center Gymnasium.
2. Special interest session are subject to change. Attendees will be allowed to register for one special interest area only.
3. Evening meals will be held at the Title VI – Artie Nesvold Building.
