2014 Gathering of Little Turtles Registration Information and Itinerary
June 20 – 22, 2014

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED BY ALL
Deadline to register: Wednesday, June 4, 2014.

Where: Bearskin Wellness Center GYM

Youth under the age of 13 MUST be accompanied
by an adult over age 18 for all activities, day or overnight lock‐in.

Teen’s ages 13 – 17  parent must download and complete a
Release of Responsibility and Medical Treatment form
if the teen is attending the gathering without an adult over age 18.

Little Turtles 2014 Itinerary

Friday, June 20 – Meet at Tribal Offices – Title VI Building

10:30 – 11:15 – Doors to gym open for lock-in participates to drop off overnight items.

11:30 – 12:00 – Check-in at Title VI building located at Tribal Offices

11:30 – 1:00 – Lunch served at Title VI building

1:00 – 1:15 – Opening Ceremony

1:15 – 1:45 – Welcome, Introductions, Questions and Answers (Committee to Participants)

1:45 – 2:00 – Travel from Title VI building to Community Center

2:00 – 4:00 – Crafts: Moccasins

While waiting to be measured, youth and their parents can enjoy social time and playing pool, darts, and other games at the Center.

3:30 – 4:00 – Snacks

4:00 – 4:15 – Break – Travel from Community Center to Gym

4:30 – 5:00 – Language: Casual Conversation

5:00 – 5:30 – History: Creation/Origin of the Wyandottes

5:30 – 8:00 – Games, Dinner/Social and Campfire

8:00 – 9:00 – Storytelling: Tales of the Bark Lodges

Saturday, June 21 – Bearskin Wellness Center Gym

8:00 – 8:15 – Welcome

8:15 – 9:00 – Breakfast

9:00 – 11:00 – Crafts: Moccasins

11:00 – 12:00 – Introduction to Lacrosse

12:00 – 1:00 – Lunch

1:00 – 3:00 – Flintknapping/Bow and Arrow, and other crafts

3:00 – 3:15 – Break

3:15 – 3:45 – Language: Numbers and Counting

3:45 – 4:00 – Break/Snacks

4:00 – 5:00 – Questions and Answers (Participants to Committee)

5:00 – 5:30 – History: Wyandotte Clans

5:30 – *** – Dinner (How to make Fry Bread-Indian Tacos)

*** Alternate options after dinner – Peoria Annual Pow Wow (on your own)
