The Gathering of Little Turtles

Wyandotte Annual Gathering - Little Turtles

Second Annual Gathering of Little Turtles
June 26 – 28, 2015

The Gathering of Little Turtles will be held June 26 – 28, 2015 for tribal citizens from age 5 on up. Activities are geared toward our youth with age appropriate activities split into two groups, ages 5 to 12 and 13 and up. The event starts at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 26 and ends Sunday, June 28 somewhere around noon.

Events include crafts, dancing , lacross, archery, history, and language – just to name a few. Meals during the event will be provided. Overnight lock-in lodging will be available in the Bearskin Healthcare & Wellness Center gym. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult to stay overnight.

Families, teens in high school, and elders are encouraged to save the date and attend this fun-filled weekend. The youth are our future and elders, come meet our youth, our future, as you too can participate.

If you are interested in playing lacrosse, the Wyandotte Nation wants to form a team, and we want you to be a team player. We have an open invitation from the coach at Eastern Michigan University to hold a one day Lacrosse Camp here in Wyandotte, Oklahoma. Please contact the tribal heritage department and let us know you want to play lacrosse and attend the free camp.

Registration for the Gathering of Little Turtles will begin the first of May. Look for more on the event on Facebook, the Wyandotte Nation website and the next Turtle Talk.
