Description of Assignment
| Wyandotte Nation Government is currently accepting applications for a Controller. The Controller will oversee all financial and accounting functions for Wyandotte Nation. Responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. Develop and maintain policies and procedures within the Accounting department and ensure compliance. The controller is accountable for the accounting and payroll operations of the Nation. This includes the preparation of bi-weekly payroll processing and reporting, the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field a must; Master’s Degree or MBA preferred. Accounting designation (CMA, CPA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education. Minimum five to ten years’ experience in a senior accounting or financial management role with at least 5 years’ experience leading a team required and 2-3 years Governmental Accounting-Federal Program Administration preferred. Supervisory experience, strong written communication and computer skills required. Full job description available upon request that includes physical demands.
