Kweh,

I hope everyone is well and enjoying this spring weather. After a very mild winter and record high temperatures in March, I hope it isn’t an indication of a hot summer like we had last year. Our elders have already planted their gardens, so a hot, dry summer like last year would be devastating. I hope one of them plants yellow squash, one of my favorites.

Congratulations to my great nephew, Aaron Shelton. On Saturday, March 3rd at the Oklahoma Cross Country Racing Association in Ada, Oklahoma he took 2nd place in the Mini Quad Division. This was Aaron’s first race in a competition. He is the son of Kimi and Jason Shelton of Commerce, Oklahoma and the grandson of Bill and Rhonda (Hildebrand) Klindworth of rural Wyandotte, Oklahoma.

A call to all Veterans: How would you like to become a member of a distinguished group and the pride of the Wyandotte Nation? Our Wyandotte Nation Honor Guard needs new members. If you are interested contact Sherri Clemons or Dennis Smotherman. I have the honor of accompanying this outstanding group of Veterans on a trip to Ontario, Canada at the end of April to visit our ancestral homelands.

My aunt Pauline Keffer, a very proud Wyandotte tribal member, suffered a stroke recently at her Medford, Oregon home. If everyone would include her in your prayers during her recovery our family would be very thankful.
