I have found five Wyandot names that use the noun root for sand -ndeš-.  All of these names belong to members of Turtle clans, four Large Turtle, one Prairie Turtle. Of the four in which gender of the name can be determined, three are female.

Hǫndešaręmąn    He is floating sand. (male Large Turtle).

-ndeš-              noun root – sand

-a-                    joiner vowel

-rę-                   verb root – be stable

-mą-                 undoer root suffix

-n                     stative aspect

 

Tsǫndehšratęh     It is very dry sand. (Large Turtle)

ts-                    repetitive

-ǫ-                    feminine-zoic singular patient – it

-ndehšr-           noun root – sand

-a-                    joiner vowel

-tę-                   verb root – dry

-h                     stative aspect

 

Ǫndehšuręs          She often finds sand. (female Large Turtle)
