7th Street Casino hosted its Fourth Annual Charity Golf Tournament Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Sycamore Ridge Golf Course in Spring Hill, Kan., to benefit Heartland Honor Flight.
The charity golf tournament raised $20,000 for Heartland Honor Flight. Wyandotte Nation Chief Billy Friend presented the check to the non-profit. Several veterans were on hand for the tournament, including a World War II veteran who played in the tournament.
Heartland Honor Flight is a Greater Kansas City area non-profit that transports American veterans to Washington D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to senior veterans, World War II survivors, along with other veterans who may be terminally ill.
