Description of Assignment

Wyandotte Nation Government is currently accepting applications for a Family Services Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Advocate/Educator. Under the direct supervision of the Family Services Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Advocate/Educator Supervisor, the employee is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Wyandotte Nation Family Violence Prevention Program. Advocate will implement procedures, recommend policies designed to enhance the effectiveness of the program and further the initiatives of the program. Advocate will assist victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, dating violence and stalking. Services provided to both the victim and their dependents include, but are not limited to, advocacy, court accompaniment, resource and

referral, and direct services.  The employee will be “on-call” for emergencies as needed.  Employee will also be responsible for

meeting grant objectives for culture, education and awareness programs. Must have a High School diploma or GED and two year’s

work experience required.  Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or closely related field with a minimum of two years’ work experience preferred. The employee may frequently be required to sit, stand, walk and perform simple and firm grasping and lift up to 24

pounds. Also, must pass background checks, physical, drug testing and maintain a valid driver’s license.  This is a grant funded position.
