Life Words

There are two related roots that refer to life and living.  There is the noun root -ǫnt- ‘life’ and the verb root -ǫnte- ‘to live’.

Life  -ǫnt-

ayatǫntaręˀ           I am (put) on top of life.  I am happy.

-y-                    1st person singular agent – I

-at-                   semi-reflexive voice

-ǫnt-                 noun root – life

-a-                    noun suffix

-r-                    verb root – to be on top

-ęˀ                    punctual aspect

yaǫnyiǫntons        They (f) give us life, they cause us to live.  They are life providers.

yaǫnyi-            feminine plural agent + 1st person plural patient: they (f) – us

-ǫnt-                verb root ‘to live’

-ǫns                 causative root suffix + habitual aspect
