Shop With a Cop Dec. 8

The Wyandotte Nation Tribal Police Department’s ‘Shop With a Cop’ program will take place Sunday, Dec. 8 this year.
Local families experiencing economic hardships can’t always provide their children with their own celebration of Christmas. That is where the ‘Shop With a Cop’ program comes in, joining underprivileged children with Wyandotte Nation Tribal Police Department (WNTPD) officers and other area tribal officers, providing the children with money to shop for Christmas presents for their families and themselves. The program is made possible through local donations and volunteers.
Participating officers will treat the kids to lunch and snacks at the Wyandotte Nation’s Title VI Building before heading to Walmart in Miami for an afternoon of holiday shopping. Following the shopping, they will bring the kids back to wrap the presents.
The youth will be picked up around noon and lunch begins at 12:30 pm. The shopping will take place following lunch, roughly from 2 to 3:30 pm. The day’s activities are expected to wrap up around 5 pm.
